“Clear, well-thought-out navigation is one of the best opportunities a site has to create a good impression.”
During this module, I learned how to design a coherent software product with clear structure and navigation. I recognise that the starting point for software navigation is setting a very clear structure and ensuring this relates well to the site navigation. I explored the concept of information architecture and how this should be defined.
I also delved into the concept of flow, what this means in the context of a digital product and how to define this. I learned how navigation relates to information architecture and explored some common desktop navigation patterns.
